Admission Standards

While FVCC is open admissions, a student must possess a high school diploma, GED, or Ability-to-Benefit (ATB) to seek a degree or certificate and to receive financial aid. Ability-To-Benefit is a minimum score on the COMPASS set by the federal government which decrees that a student cannot be denied admission because he/she is capable of benefiting from higher education. It will substitute for the high school diploma or GED for admission purposes, but is not equivalent.
